  1. I would not recommend putting it off for another minute. Mine broke and it cost me an engine.
  2. I'm about 80 miles north of you in Cookeville.
  3. OK, here's the deal with ADSL. Pretty much all DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is ADSL (Asynchronous DSL). All that means is that your download speed is faster than your upload speed. There are two main parts to your DSL connection, the telco side which is all the way from the main facility where your internet comes from to the box on the side of your house where the telephone line comes in to the house and, from the afore mentioned box into your house to all of your telephones, satellite receiver, and your modem. What you need to determine is what side your problem is on. The first step is to call your ISP and tell them you are having a problem. They need to come out and determine if the problem is on their side or your side. Basically, that means up to the box is their problem and past the box into your house is your problem (monetarily that is). The ISP or TELCO is usually responsible for fixing their end and you are usually responsible for fixing any problems with the wiring in your home. What is your connection supposed to be ? I have had DSL for a long time and prefer it over cable any day as cable is a shared type network and, DSL is a dedicated connection with a fairly fixed rate of speed with no neighbors eating up your bandwidth with p2p prOn 24/7. If the problem is on your side, it's time to call a telephone repair service to come out and test the telephone lines in your house and hopefully find whats wrong, fix it, and not charge you an arm, a leg, and a keg. Hope this helps.
  4. It sounds like your multifunction switch may be bad. I had to replace mine to get the turns and heads operating properly. It's just a few screws + 1 plug + 25-50 bucks at your local auto salvage concern. The Switch looks like this.
  5. Dingy, multi-white. Mine is a salvage title and was obviously wrecked. Obvious when i looked behind the back/cargo area drivers side plastic panels and subsequently realized that many of the exterior body panels were slightly different colors of white. Not to mention the mysterious reddish color on parts of the frame. I am not sure, but i think it might be the dreaded bandit El Rusto and his oxidization gang.
  6. Ahhh liquid courage ! It has gotten me into and out of some tight spots ! 4 wheelin' and otherwise.
  7. By doubler do you mean to stick both transfer cases togather to achieve some sort of ultra low low gearing ? Sounds cool ! How in the world do you get it to work ?
  8. My engine had 230,000 miles on it, and i had no idea when the belt had been changed last. I bought the truck not knowing anything about the service history other than it had a new windshield (which was badly installed), and a fresh oil change. The truck ran like a champ until the moment the TB broke, so i was not super concerned about getting it changed immediately, which was very unfortunate.
  9. Let me second, third, and fourth all of the above reccomendations. My timing belt DID break about three weeks ago, completely trashing the heads. I have discovered that a decent used engine is comparable to the price for new or rebuilt heads. I will have spent well over a thousand dollars when this repair is finished. If there is any question about when your TB has been changed last, DO IT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE! I was planning to do mine this summer, and now i have to pay the (heavy) price of procrastination.
  10. This is my first post and I thought I would start out with a bang. Three days ago I was driving my pathfinder ( white, 1991, 5spd, VG30E, 230,000mi, and a little rust ) and the timing belt just up and decided to break. Now the engine is more expensive to fix than a used replacement engine would be to purchase. I have never replaced an entire engine by myself before, but have the luck of the girlfriends dad ( ex military machine shop/mechanicical instructor ) to help out. I have looked at many engines on the internet, mostly on car-parts.com. As i am not the most knowledgeble mechanic, does anybody have any advice as to what the "right" questions would be to ask when i am calling around and trying to find a decent used engine?
