  1. Explained very well. Looks a little thin tho... I'd assume that the OEM receiver is strong enough to use as a recovery point, as that's what a lot of people suggest to use for any rear recovery...so I guess for towing or anything you would have to take into account the weight of the new bumper when thinking of the tongue weight. I was hoping to save my receiver so I could possibly return everything to stock, but I guess not. Oh well. Thanks for the pictures, they are helpful. let us know how it works out in real world conditions
  2. I'll take advantage of that, could you take some pics and explain a bit of the design you used for the mounts? I'm guessing you might of used the receiver hitch mounting location for the bumper... Great work by the way.
  3. I don't think this is going to support the stresses of a winch.....

    chopped doors

    Ughhhh, that @!*% is cleannnnn.
  5. How often do you guys replace your struts/shocks?
  6. Holy @!*% that's a decent compressor you got there. How much do those run? Now i'm thinking more and more about picking one up.
  7. Any final answer on the camber bolt issue? Can they be matched at a local hardware store? How many do you need? Should you just let the shop put them on when you have an alignment done? Is an alignment needed after the AC lift?
  8. very very nice. I just decided today that I needed to build myself a rear bumper. Have any plans/dimensions you could share?
  9. HEy, I live in squamish! I just about ordered new bumpers today to replace my stock ones, but thinking now I might as well try to get some made, at least the rear. Got any fabrication connections in squamish? we should wheel sometime.
  10. i had 31" BFG MTs on my stock 98 pathfinder no problem as well. Loved it...until i Rolled it...

    Hitch Gate

I just came across this in Four Wheeler today. A new product from Tire gate, the guys who make replacement pickup truck gates that swing out and you can mount a tire on it, have made a swing out tire gate that inserts into your reciever on pretty much any truck. Seems pretty sweet. Looks quality for sure, and still allows you to put a hitch on it so you can still tow a trailer. Also comes with a hi-lift jack mount. Pretty damn expensive tho. Would definitely be a lazy alternative to fabricating a whole new bumper tho... www.tiregate.com
  12. How do you do that?

    Routing Wires

it's a 98, auto, i'll look for that plate first, i found it really hard to find the big gromet behind the engine on that side, but i saw it on the cab side, looks like a TIGHT fit...
  14. I am trying to hook up some offroad lights but i'm having trouble trying to find a place to run wires into the cab?? I couldn't find any available holes that i could route them thru. In any of my old vehicles i was always able to find some space to fit wires but i have not found one yet on the pathy. Where have you guys run your wires?
  15. those look niiiiiiceeee, i wish i could weld so i could start building sumj stuff for my pathy...how did u mount them to the frame? welded, or just bolted up somehow?
  16. how is that for water protection tho? it seems like the stock box is a little more sealed around that might be a lil' better at least for splash protection...nothing but a snorkel will save u when it gets over the hood, but what about just b4 that?
  17. I get all my work done at futureshop now...the best installer in the city left a local place and started working there. he always gives me killer deals and does a ton of work for a lot less than it would normally cost me....i'm not a fan of their product so i usually pick stuff up at other places and then bring it there to get put in! Should check with those places, sometimes despite most of the ppl that work there are idiots, there just might be a few ppl that actually know a thing or two hanging around...
  18. no, change the corner light to act as turn signals only, and then use the wiring from the corner lights to the fog lights so they are on all the time and the wiring from the fog lights to a new set of offroad lights...
  19. So here's what i was thinking today as i was looking at the front of my pathy... would it be possible to switch some of the wiring around between the fog lights, turn signals and night running lights? what i want to do is take the signal light wires and splice them into the front corner lights so now they would be the signal lights....then i would take the corner lights and wire them to the fog lights so whenever the lights were turned on the fog lights would be on all the time, basically bypassing the fog light switch on the steering column....the last thing would be to remove the signal lights completely and replace them with new driving lights and take the wiring from the OEM fog lights and wire them to the driving lights making it possible to control them with the switch on the steering column that was originally for the OEM fog lights.... has anyone done this or thought about this, basically, would it work? it makes sense in my head.....
