it is all covered here somewhere, I think in the garage section. The UCAs correct for ball joint angle, front JGC springs are what you want, I didn't need a compressor to put mine in, depends on how you do it, probably easier with a spring compressor though
alright good to know bc im gonna be putting in the jgc coils tomorrow and dont want to have to spend 15 bucks on a coil compressor from princess auto....

Any tricks on getting the 2 bolts up on top where the transmission mounts on the motor..When I replace the transmission on my 94 those 2 bolts are the a pita to remove
if you take off the filler tube, you can reach behind the engine and tackle it with a ratcheting box end wrench 14mm
worked well for threading the bolts aswell

would i need spring compressor to fit jgc coils on my pathy?
-
could it be your trans?

well there is a guy in ottawa that can have the altenator respooled for $100 to w/e you want...... and i think the second altenator mod would be great. there is a guy on car domains that has this mod aswell and a guy in ottawa thats close to you that could give you a hand... but i guess you are gonna need to get a wiring harness from a parts truck to start.. and add a switch between the 2??????? one for daily drivin and a switch to use both for when your on the trail

i dont have the same year as you mine is a 94... but i have the same problem in the morning my truck wont use overdrive until the trucks warms up, so i use alot of gas and im right beside the hwy.... i just drive slower untils its able to shift into overdrive. which isnt to long
-
if your not experienced on icy roads the best thing for you to do is what you did after going into the ditch and slow down. 4wd will help you take off faster but wont save your bacon when stopping.
oh and its never a good idea to go 90 on ice lol. good to hear you made it out fine.
when driving the slush in the middle of the road i usually will keep my foot on the gas but not accelerating, and slowly creep over holding the steering wheel tight. never pull on the steering wheel when driving through slush.

did your truck burn oil? why would the thieves even think of putting oil in lol? Find the leak? Has she started?
-
if it looks like it is leaking from the bell housing on the transmission where meets engine probably the rear main seal is leaking..... To fix rear main seal you have to take the transmission off the seal isn't hard it self its the removal of the transmission... but it could still becoming from oil filter or the sensor above the starter...

Question. When I go from 4Hi back to 2 wheel drive I get a terrible grinding sound from the tranny and this is stopped in neutral. I'm thinking that can't be good, any ideas? Auto trans. Also does it matter if OD is on?
maybe your going further than 4 hi and actually putting it into 4 lo? thus getting the infamous grinding noise while shifting into 4lo while not in neutral.
-
there is a way to run a relay into the system adamzan has the diagram
-
changing the rear main seal isnt that hard i have done it on mine just 4 bolts.... dont give up i want to see what she looks like when ur done
-

-
thanks guys for all your help trans has been finished for a while and everything seems to be going well except for those darn rebuilt starters hate them.
-
i was gonna mention about the whole neutral thing.. but figured cause it was newer that it could shift in without being in neutral. like my fathers 2006 xterra
-
now adam dont make me drive to kemptville this late at night......
-
just bc your battery is 2 months old doesnt mean you couldnt have found a dud..
i changed my starter 3 times before i found a rebuilt that has worked for me but it is still too soon to know if this one wont conk out on me.
-
i dont know about the r50's but my 94 the only way to shift in to 4 lo is pushing down on the stick while attempting to put in 4 lo, 2hi to 4hi you just pull
-
im on my 3rd rebuilt they are crap probaly gonna buy new if this goes again.
-
