Yeah, my new polks are so frekkin' loud!
-
No I did not. I removed the screw under the steering wheel and then tried to remove the horn pad, after realizing that I was going to have to force it, I didn't. After talking to family members over the holidays they told me that their cars have that noise too and that it isnt hurting anything so I kind of got focused off of that and more towards getting my new speakers and deck installed. And yes, I got them installed and they are awesome.

I wish I was. Colorado is awesome. After college I plan to move there.
-
Well I do not see the mark but I do not know for sure until I do that test thing.
-
Which one do I want?
-
Well is this plate like accessible without taking off the whole steering wheel? Can I just pop off that horn cover and if so, then what?
-
HAHAHA I read that but it didn't click till now. That is hilarious!
-
The little orange mark on that circular tank?
-
The answer better be while it is off. Right?
-
Well I am going right now to pop out my horn pad and see what the deal is.
-
Where exactly is this orange LSD sticker? I still do not know if I have LSD or not.

Just depends on how you drive. There are so many factors that come into it, like: stopping at intersections having to give it the gas on an on-ramp how often you use your 4WD. Those are just some big ones. Many many things can effect how many milles/km you can get a full tank.

That's it! It is coming from right behind the steering wheel. And I can turn the wheel when the car is not on and still hear the noise. Is there any real fix to this, I mean if the plastic or whatever has rubbed away how do I replace it?
-
My steering pad does seem to be a little out of place, how did you fix that? Sorry if I am frustrating you V6.
-
No, but I am sure thats not it.
-
How would I do that?
-
I agree. I did not even know they had 2 door Pathy's when I got my 4 door. Which means I probly would not have been able to find one even if I wanted one. But maybe the next one will be 2 door, hopefully then I can afford to go offroad.

Well from talking to some people this seems to be a common problem and is something that most people just live with. Unless anyone here has a quick fix for it I see no real reason to get all complicated just to get rid of a little scraping noise.
-
WTF!? That does not sound good at all.
-
No not just all the way, I am talking just like turning the corner. Turning the steering wheel at all and I hear this noise. Even if you are right which I am sure you are, is this anything to worry about and can I fix it?
-
Thanks a lot, I was only kidding. Sorry if I offended. I have driven family members Jeeps many many times, no worries.
-
When I first got my car it had a little over 108k and I did not notice this, now I have around 109,220 and whenever I turn the steering wheel in either direction it makes like a scraping noise and it just is not completely smoothe. It sounds like it is coming from inside the car and I am sure it is considering that I can feel it scraping. Is this common? How can I fix it? Do you even know what the hell I am talking about?

I hope they go off-road man. What is the point of all the mods and even having an Xterra if you do not use it for what it is good for? Kickin' the dirt's ass! Although a Pathfinder IMO does a much better job of this. But someday when there are no more good Pathy's left I will have to fall back on an Xterra which I do not mind at all. I do not think we have much to look for in the future with the new Pathfinder, it looks too much like a family vehicle for me. I hope they eventually go back to an old concept.

I hate Jeep people.

Any help on these things is greatly appreciated.
