Ha...Guess what? With renewed determination (a.k.a. impatience) and a lot of luck, I went back to it and used a little more force, and yippee, I got the lid off. So now I will wait until the new Voltage Regulator arrives, and trusting that I will solve that common problem of no fuel and temp gauge function. (And just in case anyone is interested in how the gauge fix goes, I'll report back on whether my luck is still running good.)1 point
