dirtx
Has anyone tried to install a front crankshaft sleeve on their pathfinder? I installed a new seal about 30K ago and its leaking real bad again. I remember there was a small groove in the crankshaft were the seal rides. The kit comes with an install tool. If you have used one, do I need to remove the oil pump or will it fit by just removing the old seal? also do I need to remove the lip of the sleeve? http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1839096 Thank you. adamzan
I dont think you need to remove the oil pump as it just slides over the shaft. Just be real careful putting it on. I had bought one of those for my rear main seal but didnt end up needing it.

Nefarious
U can pry out the front main seal without removing the oil pump. I built a small hook tool out of an old flathead screwdriver for prying seals. Just make sure you are very careful and don't scratch the crank snout! Just noted this was for a repair sleeve, but likewise; once the old seal is out you can just install the sleeve and reinstall the new seal with the oil pump in place Edited March 19, 2014 by Nefarious
