  1. Interesting thread. I would not worry about the clutch, you can buy one with a new clutch and have it fail because of defect or poor assembly or bad treatment. Yes to the issues above about throwout bearing, i have also seen one pressure plate fingers damaged, and that was a long time ago. Doesn't happen very often, the bearing has to seize, and then the noise would change...... seems to me its a good deal, counter a lower price because the Timing belt replacement.
  2. my transfer case leaks at the from input shaft, and the fluid is confined to the middle of the pathy. And yes it has Autotrans fluid....
  3. I dont think any station wagon could do the alpine loop, not enough ground clearance.
  4. X2 never changed my crush washer, doesnt leak !!!
  5. I have stock 2003 Se 4WD, part time. I took this with worn stock tires, ie the stock Bridgestone HT tires, around the Alpine loop in southern Co. This had mud, snow, and rocks, but not really rock crawling. Look it up online. Went up in 4WD high, came down in 4WD low for control. Open diff's, Bashed the hitch at the back a few times, otherwise it was fine.
  6. FYI On my Subaru the Stealership got one cam off by a tooth. When I had and Oil leak shortly afterwards ( very suspicious ) I found the problem. So event the dealers don't do it right. Learn't my lesson !!
  7. three different here from 14.99 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Tools-Garage-and-Equipment/Bearing-Locknut-Socket/_/N-25jt?filterByKeyWord=front+bearing&fromString=search
  8. Yes its marked for the Isuzu trooper for my 2003 pathy... Dont remember where i got it but was not hard to find, Autozone ? These bearings are the old school double tapered rollers used forever, and are easy to work on and last forever.
  9. excelent thread !!! I have 2003 SE with stock wheels, six spoke. Has anyone put Warns on with these wheels ? Thanks Ian
  10. When you jumped it you connected the negative jump lead to metal on the Engine...correct ? If so yes its the negative terminal or negative cable.....
  11. When i inspected my Drums I worked out they were going to last well over 200K miles.
  12. Ok I searched, cant find anything.... 2003 Part time 4WD SE pathy Auto. the 4WD Hi wont engage, did work fine. ( ie push lever forward.) 4WD-Lo works fine ( Pull lever backwards.) Any ideas what to check ? Thanks
  13. I have a 2003 Pathy, yes the QX4 is the same. A warning.... I put a U-Haul hitch on my sons 97 in about 98 and the two front bolts were wrong pitch, we striped them !!! Since he was only pulling a small trailer we left it. Fast forward to 2004, I buy a 2003. Order a new hitch direct from he manufacturer ( ie NOT Nissan)and front bolts are still wrong pitch. Check your bolts for front mounting holes before you damage something !!!
