  1. I have driven it from Qatar to Lebanon 2250 KM , crossed 4 borders , speed was reaching 190 km/h on Saudi international road I have not switched off the engine the entire journey it took me 24hr Non stop to complete my voyage , Oil was still good No shortage no water shortage . And drive the same way back a round trip of 5000 km excluding the holidays at home The weather and road conditions varied completely , I started from Qatar 35 Celsius , KSA temperature was getting higher during the day and dropping to -2 Celsius at night with open dry roads , speed reaching 190 km/h Reaching Lebanon to face slippery icy roads and storms , Paty was ready to handle any terrain and weather condition we travelled together off with a full load . The Negative points I had noticed : Having an XE-S model without cruise control was a pain in the leg driving these long distances . Patty was noisy on the desert open roads u could feel the wind leaking from the windows , can’t say she was air tight
  2. Can you recommend lift suppliers for R50 's . I have placed an order for 1.75”OME kit with front 0.5”spacer from Rocky Roads but things are not moving in the desired way I am considering cancelling the order . I know one member on this forum is from Rocky Roads and I hope this comment will be taking seriously to enhance customer service . Appreciate your help as my factory suspension is tired after 80,000 km and need to replace asap , tires are also pending replacement till the lift is in place .

    Happy Easter

Oh yea the chocolate bunny has lost half of his body already
  4. Cool trail and it is cool to see an Infinity on a trail . Is it my eyes or is this truck having beadlocks ?
  5. I'm Getting tempted and i may risk my bumper to add a picture or a video Yeah no recovery but the weight is massive when towing such a big truck you can feel Pathy's body stretching hehehe

    Happy Easter to all
  7. Another proof that the R50 is a tough truck , the other day one of the company trucks needed to be towed into the workshop , so I volunteered Pathy to do the towing , it is a 8 tons Actros 3348 double axled truck . Needless to say I went in 4 low and L1 gear it was amazing to feel that monster weight being pulled by the light Paty on the curve front tire was hardly getting traction and the back ones really stressed , but no wheel spin was there and Paty did great . Too bad no camera was available to shoot it , I would have done it another time if not for the bend caused on my back bumper due to lack of towing points on Paty and the difference in the elevation of Pathy’s lower towing point to the Actros higher towing point .
  8. The D22 snorkel looks much better on the truck. Did you take pictures while fitting it ?
  9. How did they connect it to the air intake ? did they cut the box where the air filter is ? Will they cut further inside the frame chassis to reach to the air intake ? As said previously I am not good in mechanical work so excuse my ignorance .
  10. Explorer is Fugly and out of shape Chevy blazer Jimmy is the worst 4x4 I have ever offroaded along side it used to be a burned when one of them used to be in the group Cherokee is a good off roader can’t complain about it I used to drive and we still have a 4 runner in the family it is a capable machine not as they showed it As for the Pathy I think no need to defend it over here When you are offroading why would you care for a high entry step or for a comfy ride when all you are tackling are ditches and rocks and mud …. I would have loved seeing the Explorer and Blazer going thru a ditch or having to crawl over a rock This guy is worse than Jeremy Clarkson in top gear
  11. Yikes . Dave thanks for the reply after seeing this post i don't thik i will do it .
  12. I have not seen an R50 fitted with snorkel and when I open the hood an look under it I don’t see much chances on fitting a snorkel . I am also not a good mechanic actually a bad one hehe , but I am led to believe that it is not possible to fit a snorkel on an R50 or it maybe a difficult process to install one Any idea’s on fitting a snorkel on an R50 ?
  13. I am with the option of having a metal piece welded into it and pull it out . If all above options dont work out for you don't worry about it , it is a scar from the battle field .
  14. Congracts , Mabrouk ( in my mother language ) it is good one .
  15. Woooh your door was about to touch too bad we couldn't see the back tires status but this is a good example with a lockers fitted in you could have crawled your way up
  16. Steeevo that needs good offroad skills
  17. Judging by the poll lockers dominate the offroad choice I had a non modified 1981 G 280 Mercedes Benz , it was long wheel base heavy as a tank and driven by a 6 straight in line cylinders fitted with two factory hydraulic lockers and it was unstoppable . I don’t imagine going the same places if it had flex instead of lockers
  18. King I am certainly for lockers , I want the traction where I need it . I know Some off roaders feels safer with flex as their tires would still be touching the soil and they feel they can still gain traction. Meanwhile I find it more dangerous and misleading , because even if you have a tire touching the soil it doesn’t mean that you haven’t crossed the tilting limit where the truck will tip over.
  19. The problem is that we know it but yet still go ahead and do it , I guess we can not resist the temptation on the trail From the little i can see of them those Uniroyal look bad
  20. I understand you well as i have been thru the same but I have not reached this stage yet as i am still suing Pathy as my daily drivers i wouldn't be able to go all the way on it but i do have plans of having a tire mount on the back of it and 2"lift and with lack of major obstcles in the desert she will be doing fine .
  21. Fellow offroaders , It is a very common topic in the world of offroad and people have their preferences in it . Which option is more important for you to offroad , having lockers or having flex ? And why ? Having both would be ideal but it is not the case always .
  22. Hi everyone , I agree with you all about the risk , but i couldn't resist the temptation of having more clearance and go where i was unable to go Now that I have tried it , my side steps will remain in very good condition at the shelves and rocker sliders would be on the wish list , till i get them i hope i wont bang against any obstacle and regret it Last time i ended up sitting on my side steps this time Paty had no problem
  23. Tomorrow I am going offroad with Paty but this time i am not going to bend the side steps so... I removed them and took the measurements and it looks like tomorrow i am going to benefit from 1.5" clearance Besides the clearance Paty looks more like a street girl then a classy girl , the only negative thing i noticed the incline to the front is more obvious without the side steps . For those who wonder how come he is going on a friday offroad trip in this part of the world week end is friday and saturday so i get my week end before you do P.S : I would have posted some pics but i am at work
