John Boy
The seal on my rear differential is leaking, what's entailed here, just drop the drive shaft? What I'm I to expect?
Filthy Luker
My dealer charged me half an hour of labour to do it (plus the seal price). Considering you need an air tool capable of taking off a 32mm or so nut that's torqued to 180 ft/lbs it was really worth it.
88pathoffroad
Yeah, that requires removal of the pinion nut... It's a bear to remove by yourself.

Smithk
Yeah my mechanic just charged me the seal price, no labour since we're buddies, got to love friends who work for Nissan
Filthy Luker
I forget now... but don't you have to also worry about the crush sleeve when tightening the pinion nut?
