Folks, i tried to follow the rules but couldnt find my solution in previous posts and i am a rookie.

93 V6.

Temp guage started doing the Yo, Yo.

now temp runs high and i cant get the heater to blow hot air to cool it down.

The blower does blow and the radiator fan is working.

Replcaced the T-stat this am and no help.

I tried doing the burp with rad cap off and no help, it runs hot so i shut her down.

When i leave the cap on and pull the pressure releif valve,,, boiling water seems to run into the resivoir.

How would i know if the water pump is dead.

Or any suggestions for help, PLEASE !!!!!

If the water pump's spinning, it should be working. I've never heard of a impeller failure with no outward leakage. With the rad cap off and the engine cool, the rad should be at a constant level until the thermostat opens. After it warms up and opens, the coolant should flow through the radiator. Watch for this to happen with the cap off. That will at least let you know if it's circulating or not.

I'd replace the temp gauge sending unit and see if the gauge calms down, it's a cheap part.

I filled the rad to the top and ran w/out cap. That seemed to do the trick.....she wont overheat and the heater works.

Hoever i may have not sealed the t-stat properly or one of the hoses. Now i have a steady drip, drip coming off the bottom of the main pully when running. UUUGGGGHHHH !!!

Main Pulley? Meaning the Crankshaft pulley? (bottom of the engine where all the belts run) If that is the case then the leak could be the water pump or one of a couple hoses... there is a troublesome little one at the top of the engine right behind and below where the top of the timing belt crosses.. it is a bypass hose iirc at the T-Stat housing.

If you are leaking there then search around a little, Slick did a write up of some sort on it. It's a common place for the VG engines to leak and is a PITA to get too (I did mine while the engine was out ;) )
