1995 front differential drop

I have a 95 pathfinder with the usual 3" body and 3" suspension lifts with 33" M/T Baja Claw radials. My CV axle shafts are about done and before I spend the money to replace them I want to try and drop my front differential. I've looked at it a few times trying to figure if it is possible. Its seems like I would just have to lower the cross brace that is right under the differential and also extend the differential mounts. But is there something I'm missing. If I'm not it seems easy but I was wondering if anyone has done this.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bill

Greg, that's basically what SLR has... It's basically the diff mounts have a offset center that is lower.

As for any further amount of diff dropping, then you'd be looking into a trailmaster suspension kit.

Well unless I'm not looking hard enough. Noone makes a front differential drop kit for a 95 pathfinder. I'm looking at dropping it 2 - 3". That way my cv axles will still be level with the raised front end. I guess when I do it I will have to document it incase of it working or not.

the TM lift is 4", it keeps it all stock (UCA's, etc.), that comes with drop brackets and coil spacers, it drops the front cross member down with the axle, but thats a lot of money just for the front, then you can lower the tbars an inch to get 3 inchs outta of it

You can't drop it 3" by itself. Your lower control arms would be in the way and the axles wouldn't be anywhere near in the right place. The diff would also be below the level of the skidplate and oilpan.

Simple answer: remove the diff, weld the holes in the mounts shut and re-drill new holes 1/2" lower. Weld more plate on for strength if you feel like it. I've had the same idea, but never had the time nor inclination to do it so far.
