Duffman
So, this BL has been sitting in my garage for a couple millenia now, and I cant put it on even if I wanted to. The problem, twisted frame. The mechanic I had do my alignment after the SL siad that the alignment was maxed out and that lifting the truck another 3" would make impossible to align becouse the frame is twisted about 2" or 3" on the passenger side. I dont know how much a frame pull costs (im asuming about as much as the trucks worth), I was also wondering if there was a way to weld on a bigger screw surface area to the front arms for more alignment travel? Anyone ever had a frame pull and if so how much was it? Thanks....im pretty bummed.
wheel366
I could be WAY off, but installing a body lift doesn't affect the suspension as far as I know.
88pathoffroad
Um, a body lift has exactly squat to do with frame and suspension alignment. Take it to a different mechanic in the future.
sw
twised frame. not saying its impossible but its very unlikely. more to the point that mechanic couldnt figure how to set up a lifted pathy front end. very similar a freind took his lifted pathy to a shop for an alignment - they spent half a day on it, couldnt get anywhere, then just turned around a said youve got a bent chassis. hmmmm i think not. pathy front ends just take more sorting out than most by some one who knows what there doing. SC88Pathy
What they said, a body lift has NOTHING to do with alignment. It might be expensive but go to the Nissan dealer and have them align it for you, they'll understand the difficulties associated with aligning the pathfinder. And they'll tell you for sure if you'v got a bent frame. I seriously doubt you have a bent frame unless you know for a fact that the pathy has been a major collision of some sort. Duffman
I figured as much. Seeing as this pathy has never even seen a fender bender I just needed to know for shure. Thanks for the replys...
