Hi Everyone,

 

I have a 03 LE and I recently noticed that when I press the remote unlock key once the door doesn't unlock all the way and I need to press the button the second time to unlock the door. This doesn't happen every single time but when it does its really annoying.

 

Any suggestions on how to fix this.

Try a new battery in the remote? Try the other remote? Happens only when it is cold outside? Maybe needs grease on the mechanism inside the door? :shrug:

 

No problem in my 02 with 90,000 km so that is all I can suggest.

Does the linear actuator inside the door activate when you hit the button and it doesn't unlock?

If so, you just need to remove the inner door and check things out in there and figure out what's binding. If it happens only when really cold, I would suspect thickened grease causing too much friction for the actuator to overcome. A single drop of Tri-Flow or similar should address that.
