Guest InitialB Posted December 13, 2005 Share Posted December 13, 2005 i set my e-brake on my 93 pathfinder yesterday while it was sitting on a hill since then I have had a squealing coming from my left rear brake i was just wondering if it might be the e-brake hanging up or the do I need new brakes when i hit the brakes it goes away . First thing to do is check to make sure the hand brake is releasing properly (the cables can bind/hang in the tube) and visibly inspect underneath the truck to make sure nothing is interfering with the cable. If thats all good, jack it up, and pull the rear drum and take a look. If you have rear disks, it could be the caliper piston or the slide pins sticking.
