HELP!

When the pathy is a t normal idle rpm's the tac fluctuates up and then down and stalls. If i keep my foot on the gas pedal it stays running. but as soon as i let off, it stalls. Some one told me to replace the throttle body sencer so i did. wasnt the problem. I have a good flow of gas going to the engin so i dont think its the fuel pump. Please help if you can. thanks :sniff:

clean your MAF and/or check the connector on the top for a bad connection.

 

While idiling rough, grab and wiggle the connector and see if it makes a difference. common problem

It probly wouldn't hurt to get some SeaFoam and add that to your gas and pour a little into your trottlebody... I used some on a 89 toyota pick that I'm driving and it made a world of difference. I was having an idling problem with that truck also. Now it's smooth as hell.

I was a similar problem, solution was to change spark wires.

Check for vacum leaks or dissconected too. My car had a simillar problem last week and a vacum hose had come undone.

Heh....see how this works? You gotta check one of everything to find out what's making it do that. Just keep it simple at first and check the obvious stuff.

I don't think anybody has suggested running the computer for codes. Maybe its in "limp" mode. Check and se what the truck is telling you.

where your cap and rotor are, theres a lil wire that goes to the front of it, pull it off and clean the connection. That might help too.

first thing i did was do a check on the ECU. and it gave me an error code 55 ( no malfunction).Thanks again for the tips. Im going to try all of them this week end. the problem is intermitant. its actually running good now. A little bit of black smoke did come from the exhuast when i first started it after it was sitting for about 9 hours. What is "LIMP" mode.
