EvilLex03
My path is ticking bad ! Im thinking about gettin headers for it, my question is how hard is this to install ? And what the heck is that ticking from ?
derogate
the ticking is from an exhaust leak... im guess right where the manifolds meet the block, but i could be wrong. You could have an exhaust leak elsewhere makeing the ticking, so dont just assume its the manifolds right away. not sure about how to install the headers, just judging from the tight spacing in the engine compartment... i'd guestimate that its a PITA for sure. EvilLex03
Yea, I think its comming from the manifolds. I will just have to get it checked out. prob be better to have a shop deal with it.
M in KC
More than likely it's a broken exhaust stud and the exhaust manifold has warped. Pretty common problem for pathys. Header install isn't to big a deal but removing any and all broken exhaust studs can be a MAJOR PITA. The water jackets are extremely close to the stud holes and much of any deviation in drilling to remove them is where the real fun usually starts. Pacesetter and Thorley make after market headers for pathys mated to a Flowmaster 40 or 50 series muffler will give you a little "throat" to your exhuast sound. Your factory emissions junk should work with either header manufacturer. JMO Mike

wheelmanLS1
Here it is His is a manual transmission, so his acceleration is much better than mine is. If I remember correctly, the automatic is a full 2 seconds slower than the manual to 60MPH. Edited July 15, 2005 by wheelmanLS1
