2001pathfinderLE
basically it sounds like a thunk from the front suspension area. Does it when i hit brakes once in a while or when the suspension compresses like up a driveway. it might be the control arm bushings but i cant seem to find any for a 2001 R50. seems there are ones for the old 99's and under but i cant finda set for mine am i missing something ?

Trialsin26
Could be strut mount bearings? Anyone else want to take a guess?
Runnerman
It's the front Stabalizer bars. Had the same problem. Well sounds the same as what your describing.
Trialsin26
Did you replace the bushings?
Pathfinder_Rookie
It sounds more like it’s a ball Joint. Does it sometimes make that noise when u go around a corner that puts the trucks weight on that tire? I start with checking the ball joint. Jack your truck up and get someone to grab the wheel from the top and the bottom an wiggle it back and forth. While he/she is doing this watch the ball joint(s) for any abnormal play and listen for the clunk. Let me know how this worked out .

Runnerman
Again it is the stabalizer links that are making this noise.
marc_andrew
my 01 with a 2" suspension lift does the same... Runnerman, do you think there is the possibiliy of cracking the stabilizer linkage over time?
Runnerman
Our 03 Pathy had to be done at around 50,000Km's. The dealership did both as they said why not there both on warranty. But he took them off and showed me how the rubber was cracked and torn up. But drove around with it Thunking for about 4 weeks.
