Is this a good deal???

Hi-

 

I have been reading a lot about pathfinders and have an opportunity to get the following:

 

1995 XE with luxury package (pwr lcks, wds, cruise, a/c) and sport package (external spare, limited slip rear diif, front and rear towing) with 44,000 miles on it for $5800. The body and interior are in great shape since it has been garaged.

Sounds good. Check out the underside for rust spots. Where are you located? If you are in an area where roads are salted during the winter, the frame might be rusting. The prone spots are primarily under the rear wheel wells, and on the frame in these locations. Basically, under the rear seats. If there is alot of rust damage in these areas, she might not be worth the trouble. Check around, do a search for rust on these boards, and you will find more than enough info to do a full check on her before you commit to buy. ]

Sounds like a very decent deal for the mileage. Time to get dirty. Crawl around underneath, even if you don't really know what you're looking for. Look for rust, scrapes, obvious wear, and stuff that doesn't look right in general. And go for a mechanic's inspection, preferrably somebody you know and/or somebody fully capable of diagnosing a vehicle top to bottom. Its worth a few extra bucks to make sure.
