Slick
OK. So, I finally did it! I got my 31's mounted n on the Pathy yesterday, after some finagaling. The tires I put on (not the Kirklands I got for $100) were off my bf's brother's Suburban that he yanked the motor from. The are as new Michelin LT's, and are purrrrrrrrrrfect. 31x10.5x15. Mounted them on the 4 rims I got for $40 and painted black May 1st. I am stoked. Little rubbing on the rear of the front fender flare..but I fixed the front with a little help from a sawzall..god I love those things! Problem.... My speedo has been broke since I got the Pathy..and with the smaller tires I USED to know how fast I was going by rpm/gear. Can anyone help me by letting me know what speeds, gear & rpm's they are doing at 30mph, 35mph, 40mph and 65mph??? I would be really really really grateful!! We don't have one dayum truck here that has an accurate, or functional speedo!! And now, with the 31's, I have no clue how fast I am going. BTW. I have a 4 door, 5 SPEED, 92 Pathy. Any help would be appreciated! Here are some pics I took today with my Pathy's new shoes on. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/pathy4x4/det...357.jpg&.src=ph http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/pathy4x4/det...aa3.jpg&.src=ph http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/pathy4x4/det...f1a.jpg&.src=ph Edited May 22, 2005 by Slick
hardwaretoad
I read approximately 2500 R's @ 60mph with my 31" Geolanders, I'll do some checking tomorrow a.m. on the way to work, will post results later. That is of course if no-one else gives you some feedback... :type:
88pathoffroad
My auto runs about 2100 RPM's @ 70 MPH with 33's.
jj big shoe
If you want to be more accurate use the actual tire diameter, not what's stamped on the sidewall. For instance, Michelin LTX A/T's are actually 30.9" while BFG A/T's measure 30.7". Just go to The Tire Rack for the specs on your old and new tires then plug 'em into this speedo calculator. Slick
I tried to use the calculator thing.. problem being I have NEVER known what speeds to gear to rpm I have been going..except for 65mph with 225/75/15 tires in 5th gear @ 3,000rpm I was doing 65. Other than that.. I am CLUELESS!!! I usually guestimate, but can not afford to do that anymore and need almost or precise speeds now with the 31's. Why Lord oh why must we have allllllll lifted trucks here at home????

Slick
hey slick is your pathy sitting at stock height with the 31's or did you get some sort of a lift or upgraded springs etc.? I cranked the torsion bars and did the JGC coil install with Rancho 5000 series shocks 2 months ago.
