Hey, I was wondering if anybody knew how to remove the doors from a '91 Pathfinder. I want to go doorless for the summer. other than that does anybody know where I could disconnect the wiring for the door controls wothout actually cutting them? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Most of the door wiring ends in harness connectors inside the steering column, actually. You'd be doing a lot of digging to unplug everything if you have power windows, etc. The hinges need to be unbolted, pulling the hinge pin isn't such a hot idea on these doors.

Why not? They can be a pain the first time out, but after that it's pretty simple.

The best bet for pulling the wires would be to discconnect everythng in the door and pull it all out of the door since you don't want to cut them. If it were me I would buy a multipin connector and splice it in so you have 1 quick disconnection at the door  .

If you're going to be driving on the road a bunch you might want to explore side view mirror options. When I would pop the doors off my old Wrangler it was a little sketchy since I was so used to using them all the time. I would also look into the legality of removing the mirrors because since they come standard, they could technically be considered safety equipment or something.

hmm, the quick disconnects sound like a good idea. My Dad works for lockheed martin so he could get a couple of those for me. as for the bolts holding the pins in place, they are welded on, so the pins will have to be removed i guess. I didnt think of the mirror thing though. hmm.

Poke at the weld with a pointy object... I bet it's just caulk that has paint on it and looks like a weld.

Lol, sure enough, its just caulking. I would have never guessed. Thanks for the mirror idea too. I think I goth this all figured out now. All I have to do now is have the local shop build me some half-doors and maybe some soft covers for the rain.
