Replacing rear hand brake

Hi,

I've been lingering around the forums here for the past year looking for many answers for my 92 Pathfinder. So far, everything has helped me immensely!

One thing I need to find out and haven't seen on the forums is how easy is it to replace the rear handbrake cable that's connected to the rear brakes. Not the cable that is actuated by the hand brake lever but the brake cable that connects to either of the rear brake toggle levers. I just recently broke the driver's side cable and was wondering if it is fairly easy to replace. Something worth fixing? How expensive are the cables? Part numbers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

You don't need to remove both rears, just the side you need to replace.

My driver's rear is snapped on my 88, stealer wanted $75 for a new cable...I went and bought some cable at the hardware store and some crimp on ends to replace mine.

Thanks for the reply guys. I just checked with my local Stealer and they wanted $110 Cdn for the driver's side cable only!! May have to visit the local salvage yards for this. Heck maybe I'll just saw off some 4"X4" wooden wheel blocks instead!
