Guest HayZeus
Hi all. I recently bought a '94 Pathy (and I'm waaaay in love with it) which happened to have retained its original factory cassette player, which is great since I'm using it to play my MP3 player. Since I still want to be able to play CDs on those rare occasions I bought an OEM CD rig from a '94 to install in the bottom bay. When I received the unit I discovered that in addition to the round plug that goes to the cassette deck it had an extra black/green wire coming from the back as well as a 4-pronged receptacle for another set of wires, neither of which I expected. I've found plenty of info online regarding the factory amps and the wiring for the standard deck but nothing about the cd add-on so far. If anyone could offer me any assistance as far as how I should wire this sucker up I'd greatly appreciate it.
statikuz
Ditch everything and get an aftermarket CD player with some AUX inputs so you can plug in your MP3 player whenever you want.
Guest HayZeus
Yeah I thought alot about that route and I may go for it in the future but right now I've got a few other things that are higher on the list!
k9sar
my 95 did not have a CD player but I put one in. The unit listed for my truck was about 300 bucks but there was one which was basically the same but with a different connector for an altima for 80 on clearance. A little rewiring and it works great. I'll see if I can pull it out and get some wiring info for you in the next couple days (if you can wait).
Guest HayZeus
My Haynes manual for the Pathy should be coming in soon and that may well have the info I need in it. If it doesn't I'll happily take you up on your offer but it may not be necessary. Thanks either way though.
Repack
My Haynes manual for the Pathy should be coming in soon and that may well have the info I need in it. If it doesn't I'll happily take you up on your offer but it may not be necessary. Thanks either way though. It won't help. I agree with the aftermarket. I paid <$300 for an Alpine CDA 9827, wiring harness, and universal dash pocket. I'll give you the factory unit. It may have a minor volume problem. Its either in the head or the amps that I removed. But I'll never use it again. Pay for shipping and the head/cd are yours. If it works you can kick me a few bucks or something.
