BFG and ProComp - will they fit?

So I hate to be 'that guy' that makes another "will this tire and wheel combo fit", but I've almost got this figured out after months of searching. Now I just need a little more information, which I hope you guys can help out with. I was originally looking at going with a 17 inch wheel as that's what my truck came with, and I wanted to keep myself capped at about $1000. This meant I was going to use ProComp wheels and Hankook Dynapro AT-M tires in a 31 inch size. However, I found out that 15 inch stuff is way cheaper! I am now planning to use the same ProComp wheels in a smaller size at $40 less each and some BFG KO2 tires at $25ish more each. So this works out a bit cheaper, and I get better/larger tires and more stance. These are the products I'm looking at specifically:

My main question is, will these wheels and tires go together? I'm not sure how the whole width thing works. Also, will a 33" (which in BFG language means 32.5") fit on my QX4 with a 2.5" lift with no trimming? I've heard that a 32" will fit with a 2" lift, so I don't know if that extra half inch that I have is enough. I wouldn't mind trimming the fenders, but the Infiniti has these huge flares that flow with a bunch of body lines and I don't want it to look stupid. If that won't fit for sure then I'm fine with getting 32's, but bigger is better of course so I figured it was worth investigating. Rough measurements say it should fit, but IDK about the inner fender well, which I DO NOT want to alter.

Again, sorry for being 'that guy'!

Once you go past 32" the issue becomes clearing the front strut. Based on my 315/75/R16s I'm thinking that there is no way to stuff a 12.5" wide tire in there without spacers, even with 3.75" backspacing. Spacers are actually pretty cheap, but once you slap spacers on it really changes the arc of the wheel inside the well when you turn the tires, meaning more cutting. I'd go with the 10.5's if I were you.

I would have to trim a lot more to clear 33's. I cleared 32's with cutting and a hair over 2.5" lift on an 01.

Some people just get lucky and can clear bigger tires for no apparent reason.

I love my 265/70r16 but man that is the most expensive size tire I've ever bought.

So it turns out the 32's (actually 31.5") aren't available in any width other than 11.5. Considering it is actually smaller than a 32 and I will have 3.75" backspace wheels, should this combo work? The 32 is a hair more expensive, but it's still way less than for a 17 inch wheel.

Good choice. I like those KO2s. They've done really well in the snow since Ive moved. I had zero experience in cold weather wheeling so Im not the best judge but i plowed through were most were getting stuck on a christmas tree trail.

  • 1 month later...

I run my BFG KM2 33x12.5 on a 15x10-3.75BS rim with tons of strut clearance and no spacers.

This just occurred to me...I've heard of people with post-facelift R50's having issues fitting a 15" wheel over the calipers. You must not have had this issue (or at least it was only to a smaller extent), so what wheels do you have?
