1996 - Clutch Interlock Problem (No Start Issue)

This is a no start issue which I was faced with recently on my 1996 Pathfinder (manual trans); the engine would not turn over while the clutch was depressed. Relays would 'click' as usual, but there was no starter engagement. Referring to the manuals linked here at the forum, I was able to determine that my no-start issue was mechaical and not electrical. The rubber pad on the clutch pedal that enguages the clutch interlock switch, had dry rotted and disintegrated falling to the floor board in pieces. This left a hole in the plate where the rubber pad was mounted. See the image grab from the tech manual for reference, as the arrow shows the location of the rubber pad.

It is early yet, but I plan to hit the auto parts stores to locate a rubber stopper pad today...
