Rebelord
So my radio has been acting up according to the wife. Plus the factory Sirius XM doesn't work half the time. Removed the radio and found this mess. To me. Looks like the PO had a put in some kind of amp for a sub? The RCA box as a pre out? The blue went under the driver seat and ended. Figure that was the signal wire? But the splice job is WTF worthy. I know the fat round bundle is for the Siriusxm. But cant figure out what the red yellow and orange are for it. I'm about to look at the siriusxm box in the back. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
kdj
Do you know if it has the stock speakers or if they been changed or rewired?
Rebelord
Everything is stock as far as I know. Ok, this is what I figured out. Someone jerry rigged the splice for the RCA pre out for an amp at some point. To the rear speaker output wires. So, I cut that out. Didn't want to mess with the splices. Who every did that, messed with the harness that was the factory one for power to the Satellite box. So, I was able to figure out, Orange is Ground, Yellow is always 12v+ hot, Red is 12v+ Ignition hot. Found the coordinating original harness wires and used some 3M quick splices to get it clean power and remove the mess they made. Not perfect, but better than what was done. Verified on harness to satellite box in the back. So, that's good. Then once all the jumbo was taken out, and I was able to put everything back together. Viola! Front speakers don't cut out anymore! Imagine that. But, now the satellite radio, doesn't want to actually receive a signal and work. I have a new antenna, plus ohm'd it out. Checks good. All wiring on N Bus wiring checks good. Opened up the box to see if I could see anything obvious. Nothing, so I don't know. Only replacements are on ebay. As this boxes are discontinued. Unless by some chance, Clarion actually does repair them.
mickmutante
Maybe this pdf can help you... I found it usefull installing a power anthena switch... https://www.installdr.com/installdocs/nissan/PDF/647017.pdf
Rebelord
I also have the factory nissan manual on the siriusxm install. Which gives you troubleshooting guides. Whats interesting is that for 2003-2004 Pathfinders. It's noted that they are Port Install only and no dealer install kits. But gives you the part numbers for everything in case you have to replace any components. Even gives out Clarion dealer number to call for repairs. Might take a chance and call them. Never know. However in the end. Probably cheaper overall to replace the entire system with all new wiring and components from after market.
