I have a possibility of buying a 92 pathfinder that caught on fire for $400. the whole .ca is in good shape but obviously engine is toast. so my question is a the 4x4 setup a straight bolt on to a 95?

Wish I could help man, not my department on that one. Seems like they would be a "quick and easy" swap, but I am not sure of the difference in crossmembers, oil pans, or torsion bar setup. Seems like the 2wd has a tension rod up on the front of the control arm where as the 4wd has a strut rod to the rear? I'm only going from memory here but I know my 2wd Frontier was staying that way for a reason, and I think its because it was not a quick and easy thing like I wanted. This is all speculation on my part, I'm going off the newer WD/D22 chassis vs the older WD/D21.

I'm not sure that was the case on the WD21, but I know what you're talking about on the Frontiers. I have a 98 2wd also...completely different frame from the 4wd. I was under the impression that the WD21s had the same frames. Someone else will need to confirm that, of course.

I would venture to guess that you can swap the drive trains with minimal issues. There was a post, a complete write up iirc on here but searching via tapatalk is not working and I am away from a usable computer...
