98 Pathfinder Clutch went flat

Newbie here! Have had my 98 Pathfinder for quite sometime. Bought it for 1000 bucks and haven't had an issue with it for 2 years until now. Clutch pedal went flat last week so I had it towed home. Slave was leaking so I purchased a new one (Wagner since I couldn't get a Nissan OEM and needed it ASAP for work). She was working fine for almost a week but it seems the Slave is leaking again... I topped the Master up with fluid and pumped it a few times. Seems to be okay for now. Any reason why it would continue to leak with a brand new slave?

Thanks guys!

I recommend first, that you verify that the new leak is in the slave. I say this because the seals on the old slave were old enough to allow it to leak, so then perhaps they are on the master too...

So check the master for leaks. It would be leaking out the back side along the clutch rod attached to your clutch pedal. The fluid would be on the interior of the truck up high where you might not see it et (soaking in to the carpet)

And it's also pretty likely that a fitting wasn't tightened enough when the slave was replaced and it could simply be that.

But if you check it out and find the leak is the slave, then you simply got a bad slave and it sucks...but it can happen.

Are you sure it is NEW and not a rebuilt part? Just saying, it is possible that the replacement part is faulty as well.

As was said, I think the most important thing right now is to determine exactly where the leak is.

Looks to me like it's coming from the slave. I cleaned up everything around it and had a friend push the pedal in for me. When the pedal was down completely and the slave fully extended, the rear part of the seal (next to the transmission) would start to seep fluid. He did this a few times and it looks like it keeps coming from the same place. The bleeder is fully sealed and the line is tight, both are dry with no signs of leakage.

I'm going to order an OEM Nissan slave this time and hopefully that fixes the problem. The one on the truck before this replacement appears to be the original that came with the truck and gave me no issues until last Friday. The replacement lasted 4 days before it started leaking.

I've had very bad luck with cheap slaves. It's worth the extra money for a Nabco, Tokico, Senkei, or Nissan part when you don't have to keep replacing them.
