Never has to do it but you might find some info on it in the Body section of the FSM.... I wasn't bragging really, just anyone who has ridden a big cc thumper knows vibration and how useless rear mirrors can be. On them you use bar weights and rubber isolators to control mirror vibrations.

Two screws underneath the mirror, have a habit of becoming loose, at least on my one they do

 

way late reply, my bad. Thanks for the input man, totally solved the issue. Now to deal with the timing belt and the smashed radiator that is blocking my access....

Last one was a 1994 XR650L. Mirrors were fine unless the engine was running, then they would give you seizures if you looked in them...
