sunovertone
OK, so I have been enjoying driving my pathy around, seems to be driving well. However in the 2nd and 3rd gears on my mannual transmission, is a jangling type noise, not quite shure how to describe it. its not a grinding, more of a jangle. does not happen in 1st or 3rd or 5th, that i have noticed. I just bought this car and hope this isnt a sign of a rebuid. any info would be great!
fixinto
hmm, after its in gear when u let out the clutch? or while the clutch is in? have you tried it at different RPM? heat shield rattle? come to think of it, i think i have a gangle in 1st i think its the throw out bearing, "aka release bearing and or clutch release bearing" because it has a sortof, "metal slip sound while depressing the clutch petal sometimes and a very high whine when in neutral." other than that heat shield? lol pat Edited September 4, 2014 by fixinto
Chaser999
I have an automatic but I was getting a jangle in 2nd and 3rd which ending up being a heatshield loose underneath. Definitely take the time and get under your truck and check all your heat shields. That could be a very inexpensive fix. I ended up just twisting mine so it fit tight again. Sooner or later I'll get around to grabbing a pipe clamp and fixing it.
