Just wanted to update and say I got the a/c going

I want to thank everyone who responded to my post and gave me their advice. After the a/c suddenly stopped working. I fooled around with the truck for almost a week. I knew it had to be something electrical. I studied the factory service manual and I came to the conclusion it was the push button a/c / heat climate control had went out. I ordered a used one off of ebay last week and it came in Sat. while I wasn't home. I plugged the new unit in yesterday and it would not work just like my old one. So, I just said I wasted more money b/c I had already bought two new relays.

Well I was going to give up. But something made me give it one last try this morning. I studied the fsm a little more and printed out the pages I thought would help. All I had for testing anything electrical was a 12 volt test light. Well I spent most of the day trouble shooting and finally got the climate control I ordered to come on and work. But it would still not engage the a/c clutch. Well the last part was luck. I was pressing on the fuse box to make sure everything was tight. Then there was some clicking. I pressed harder on the clicking noise and the a/c started working. The ecm fuse was not blown but somehow it must have been loose or something. My rpm went back to normal and my a/c started working. I started the truck several times and each time it worked. Drove it around the block and everything electrical was working and the a/c was ice cold again.

I have either fixed the problem or have began a mess of electrical headaches to come. Hopefully I fixed it.

Just wanted to update and thank everyone.

Thanks. I was just thinking my pathfinder is 20 years old and the electrical stuff is not that bad, but it still gives me fits. I also have a 2008 Pathfinder. It has so many electrical gadgets that I hardly ever use, and you know sooner or later something is going to tear up. I don't think I could handle anything like that.

I've seen fuses get corrosion on their contacts and not conduct. I recommend you take a few minutes to pull the fuses and look to make sure they are clean.

Hint: Do it one at a time... :D
