how many pounds for AC recharge?

my ac isnt very cold and its right at 28 pounds still in the green but my gauge shows i can go to 46 before its in the red, what is a good poundage to be at

If you look in the service manual (available for free links in the garage section here) it will tell you the proper pressure for the ambient temperature of where you are.

 

Under the hood it will say how many lbs of refrigerant it takes. But this is NOT the pressure.

I live South of you and i just did mine. I put it at 40 on my gauge and blows cold now.
