gmdavis
Hello all, I am driving a 1995 pathfinder XE; I recently replaced my alternator about 3 weeks ago. About a week later my dash lights and headlights started pulsating while driving. When it is at idle, it sounds as if it is struggling to stay running. All of my belts are tight and my battery is receiving just over 14v while car is running. The battery is also brand new. I cleaned ground connections and checked ground on alternator. All of which seem to be in good order. Any thoughts are much appreciated.
silverton
Sounds like the voltage regulator inside of the alternator. Hopefully the place you got the alternator from has a warranty since the whole unit needs to be replaced.

silverton
Either double post or I was a bit too up in the clouds last night, cause I swear I responded to this. The voltage regulator inside of the alternator is defective and the entire unit needs to be replaced, hopefully it came with some kind of warranty.
