Beatup96
I'll be starting to order parts for my 1996 XE in about a week , probably be asking a bunch of questions.... First question is on spacers . I'm going to skip a sub frame drop for now and go with an A/C 2" lift and 1" spacers . I'm looking for a balanced height front to rear , not the original "raked" look To get this am I looking at using just strut spacers ? If I also use coil spacers in the rear will the rear be higher than the front ? My '96 XE has the factory spare tire carrier and I'll be mounting a 31" spare , added to that I usually have at least 100lbs of stuff in the rear . Rebelord
Subbing as this is exactly what I plan on doing. One thing I was thinking of to lessen the rake was to order the Trim Packer kit from Rocky-Road to place in the front. Its just a coil spacer that goes with the coils in the front struts. 90seven
With the AC coils all the way around the rear will sit higher. The spacers in the front will level you out. If you add spacers to the rear, you'll be in the situation you're trying to avoid once again. So to answer your question, yes. If that's your usual gear load, approximately 150lbs. Your front spacers might not be needed as it would level out. (Someone else might be able to chime in on this.)
