Plastic centering rings?

Hello guys , I am looking for new set of rims but most of them comes with plastic centering ring , that doesn't look good to me . Will it work with out balancing problems , do I need to replace them once in the while ?

Let me what is your experience .

I use plastic polycarbonate hub rings on my 240sx, I have no balance issues and I've been using them for months,

I bought a set of Pro-Comp Wheels, and had balance issues.

 

I bought a set of rings to attempt and rectify it, with no success. It helped, but it was still an annoying problem. On top of that, the rings will start to melt with them being on the surface of the hubs and Drums.

 

However, someone suggested on here, that as long they are lug centric wheels, while the car is up in the air, use a torque sequence to get the lugs to center keeping them set perfectly around the wheel.

 

My order is hand tight with a ratchet, then 60 ft-lbs 90ft-lbs and then 110 ft-lbs (which is to spec) it seems to work in reducing wheel wobble while braking, didn't have too much of an issue with steering wobble at speed.

 

I only tried the front wheels and saw a noticeable difference in wobble and feel.

That's what I thought , maybe I can make metal rings just not sure if it's worth time and money

I'm thinking about getting them, but after tightening the lug nuts in the correct order, etc, I have very little issue with the wobble. It's very, very slight at about 50mph & really doesn't bother me.

Sorry to dredge up an older thread , but I want some of these metal hub spacers for my '96 XE with Pro Comp 51's , what is the correct size ?

I measured my wheels & I came up with 101.60mm x 107.95 for the Pro Comp 51's on an R50. This seems awful big & I can't find this size anywhere. Does anyone know if this is the correct size? If not, what is the correct size?
