Trogdor636
So I recently welded in a new section of floor above where the y pipe meets the mid pipe due to a small hole starting to form in the floor. Is there a undercoat that can be applied above the exhaust? In the cab I am just going to seam seal and use a high temp primer, but I was looking for a little more protection underneath. Thanks folks.
NissanNismoZ
Seeing how bedliner is thick, couldnt you apply some down there, also preventing rust with it, or no? I'd honestly use a heat shield made of thin metal to bolt above it.. Just my two cents, but im sure it'll help.
Trogdor636
Bedliner was a thought, I just was seeing if there were other options. Does bedliner hold up well to heat?
Simon
Try manifold paint, or even barbecue paint.
Trogdor636
Try manifold paint, or even barbecue paint. I have some high temp primer (rated higher than manifold or bbq paint...like 2000 degrees!?!?) I was gonna hit inside and out. I was wondering about the undercoat because that would help cover the patch, you'd basically never know it was there. I might just try it and keep an eye on it. I'd prefer to not be a rolling fireball.
