Simon Posted April 2, 2012 Share Posted April 2, 2012 It's the transfer case binding because the tires are spinning at different speeds when turning (inner front tire will spin at a different speed than the outer, and the rears) It'll do the same thing going forward if you turn sharp. 1994SEV6 Posted April 2, 2012 Share Posted April 2, 2012 ^^^ Yep. Sounds like typical tire hop. That's why you should try to only use 4x4 in slippery surfaces. If there is room for slippage, then this shaking won't happen. If you continue to use 4x4 on surfaces with high friction (such as the road), parts will be subject to wear and tear. Slartibartfast Posted April 3, 2012 Share Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) 2H is usually good enough. If you get stuck in 2H, go 4H until you're clear. 4H should be fine on a beach.
