Posessed Auto Locks

'94 Pathy XE. 280,000+ miles.

Going out to the truck to go to work this morning. Discovered that it had apparently decided that it wasn't gonna have any of that @!*%, and triggered the power locks sometime in the night. (I bought this truck a couple of months ago, and the previous owners had apparently replaced the ignition cylinder without keying the door locks to the new keys. Obviously, this presents a problem. *rage*)

I'll be slimjimming the door after work, and paying the $20 to have a locksmith re-key the driver's side cylinder next week.

Any ideas as to what is causing the locks to do this? Cause I really don't want to be stranded outside again. Or be forced to drive the family shaggin' wagon. -_-#

I've done the above twice on mine with no improvement. I think I've tracked the problem to the set of contacts behind the driver's door lock cylinder, but I have to tear into it again to be sure. In the mean time, a spare key is a wonderful thing. :)

I agree. And I have one. But it also doesn't work on any of the locks.

If I knew where these people still lived, I'd chug over to their home and smack the both of them upside the head for being total morons.
