Hello people,

The people in this forum seem quite knowledgeable and I was wondering if anyone could identify the part located at the link below.

It was a "Spare" part after a friend did a transmission rebuild. This does not mean its from the transmission or a part that needed to be removed for the repair to take place.

If it helps the pic he took is of it laying on a creeper, as a size comparison.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this,

Lowell

I'm almost 100% sure that's part of the mechanism for transfer case shifter.

yeah. I was thinking the exact same thing but it almost seems too small.

Nissan used those clever little devices to control how shifters move. This DOES look like the piece that does on the t-case shifter, but I still think it looks too small. With that shape, it couldn't go to anything else.

The area highest on the picture is for 2hi, then you move it down for 4hi, then you have to push the shifter down for N, then you slip it into 4lo, which is the last spot on the ..whatever you would call this.

It is very simple and I would think it would be easy to put back on, but I have no idea why anyone would have removed it.

definatly the guide plate for the transfer case shifter. The "top" in that pic points towards the front of the truck when bolted on, the side against the creeper is the side that goes against the transfer case. Probably removed to take the handle out for easier movement of the t-case when removing/installing the transmission

Thank you everyone for the input, I have passed this information to my friend and he is going to look in there further. I have also asked him to take a picture of the finished product once complete so I can post it here.
