electric window switch illumination ?

ive noticed that the switches on the door panel are illuminated ...... is this standard of have my bulbs blown ...... also i havent got factory roof bars and would like to fit roof bars..... whats the plan of attack for this one then ??

I don't remember any first gen that has illuminated window switches. I'm pretty sure it's just white paint. Mine brushed off on some of the buttons too.

no mine arnt illumintaed...... . bloddy wish they was tho... any plans of attack for the roof bars guys ??

You want something like these for your mounting so you have good strength to the rails

Then basicly need both roof mount rails and whatever selection of cross bars you like (currently I have 6 of the low mount bars and 6 of the higher mount ones. I like roof bars :lol: )

 

That is assuming you are looking at a factory rack, you could always use the same process to fit a rack from a different SUV or possibly get a Thule/Yamaka/etc. style that clamps inside the doorjambs.

you got it nunya . but im a big believer in that its gota look like it came from the factory look....... non of this bodged together etc....... its not helping that we got lip less roof aswell !

:aok: nothing wrong with the factory look. I actually had to shorten a factory Nissan rack to fit how I wanted (factory rack would have to share a little real estate with my targa bar, I wanted both). Don't forget a little dab of some RVT to help seal too when installing

I agree but you would be surprised how many people ghetto their roof rack installs. If I was to do it, I would also reinforce the roof rack with rails underneath so that way the roof doesn't cave in.
