Dead odo

Soo, a couple weeks ago I'm buying gas like I do *every* week and I push the little trop-o-meter to reset and go on my merry way...A couple miles later I notice that the trip meter isn't turning, its happened before, no biggie...I just tap the reset again.

 

The I notice that not only does nothing happen but the Odometer isn't ticking over either.

Any suggestions before I yank one out of a yard?

 

It really doesn't matter toooo much since I plan to drive this rig into the ground but still, I want it to work, and being lazy, I'd rather not have to try too hard to fix it.

Could be the odometer's sending unit on the back end of the transmission could be unplugged or damaged. Check it out or have a local garage look at it for you.

Usually when those die, the only fix is to replace the darn thing. I've never heard of an easy fix for the odometer.

 

There's a speedo sending unit on the tranny, but that in turn should also drive the odometer. If it failed, you'd have no speedometer either.

yeah, so recently the little rgulator for the temp and fuel level gauages went out. upon taking out the cluster to get the reg. out, I put that cluster back on and have tried for 2 weeks now to get the speedo and odometer to work. Could it be that sending unit and if so, how much and where do i get one? please help. i need to see how fast im going!
