Rear Shock Bolts

I am noticing that in the service manual the bolts for the rear shocks have an 'X' next to them. Does anyone know if this means they should not be reused?

I reused mine too.. But you are correct, the X beside bolts in the FSM means "always replace after every disassembly"

Anyone know the shock bolts thread size??

 

I orderred new shocks but I doubt they come with new nuts

It's common sense... If they are rusty don't reuse them. If they are fine you can re-use them again. Maybe Nissan used conical nuts or bolts with thread locker?

FSM says they are to be replaced everytime they are removed. Mine just looks crummy and I was hoping I could grab one from Lowes in stainless steel before the install so Im hoping someone knows the thread size

The FSM says to replace the rear shock nuts, not the bolts.

The washer between the lower stud and the nut apparently can be reused. For what, $3.xx per side I'd just replace them.

So did anyone ever measure the size of the rear shock nuts? Going to change out the shocks this weekend and wanted to get new nuts ahead of time.
