Timing belt question

I was just wondering if anybody has any experience about changing a timing belt. I am thinking about doing it myself to save money but im not sure how hard it is? I have a little experience with working cars but this would be the biggest job that I have done. I don't have any special tools but I do have a service manual. But the timing belt is a very precise thing. So if anybody has done it before I would appreciate your input on whether or not I could tackle it myself.

Nope, no one here changes their own belt.

 

Seriously though, if you have some mechanical experience, access to tools and a good place to work and want to learn, you can do it yourself and save a lot of cash at the same time. Read these two threads and ask if there is something you need clarified. You'll need a fair tool selection (wrenches, sockets and goodies, harmonic balancer puller, breaker bar, etc) but it really isn't that hard.
