Hey guys, mate bought a terrano with td27t, and on a cold start up it has a rough idle and blows a bit of smoke, got a comp test and these are results

So my guess would be when its cold cyl 3 isnt getting any compression, and letting a bit of oil past the rings to burn?

 

If so, is there an additive to thicken the oil to prevent that?

It has a weak cylinder, but still has some compression. Rough idle and smoke is normal on diesel engines but with that one weak cylinder it will make a rough engine as long as that is the only problem.

 

Yeah but the rough idle im talking about isnt normal, and its goes away after about 1 minute, i think its after the rings expand in some heat?
