so iv done the self diagnosis from the ecu. and everything checks out, code 55 no malfuction. has anyone had the check engine light flickering probleem?.. i have no clue what to do now..any help would be thankful..lol

what i would do is reset the codes, by either pulling the negative cable for a few minutes or using the ECU (resetting via ECU would be best, as it wouldnt have to go through the re-learning process..)

and see if it comes back, if it does then..someone else may have a better answer than i do..after all i am still a noob-ish. :P:crossedwires:

Agree with above. I just had this happen in my '94. Turned out I was still in diagnostic mode 3. Everytime the red LED flickers as part of the 55 code your CEL will flicker too.

In my truck I clear the codes by going from mode 3 to mode 4 while the ignition is on as per the FSM then turn off ignition. Cured it for me.

k sweet im going to try that and ill let you know.. today it just stayed on all day. then went out ..so ill give it a try

so i tried disconnecting the battery, that worked for a day ..then came back on.. im stumped
