Another Dreaded Tire Question

So looking to get the MT sidebiter wheels which have a 4.5 BS and I want to mount a 265/75/r16 tire. The tire is about 31.8" in diameter. does anyone think this will clear the strut? I have a 31.2" currently on another 4.5" BS rim.

I have the same size of tires AT and no issues with the strut though it looks scary with only few mm of clearance .

I'd say the biggest concern is the backspacing of your wheels. I ran 265/75R16 Toyo A/T Open Countrys on 16x8 wheels with 3.75" backspacing and I had maybe 3/8"-1/2" of clearance between the strut and the tire. Wheels with 4.5" backspacing might pose a challenge.

 

The only way to know will be doing a dry run to see how it all comes together. Worst case scenario: you may have to get wheel spacers to make it work.

I appreciate the useful responses, I was just curious to know if anyone has actually tried that size on their pathys before I get stuck with 4 tires that won't fit.
