pathfounder
Well the new sensor did not fix the problem. I guess I will wait till I get a CEL code one day. The issue is not that big of a deal to keep sinking money into things that might not fix the problem. I believe you, but I am pretty surprised. Either the new MAF is no better, or you have a different problem. Other possibilities include a bad injector, weak ignition (cap and rotor, wires, plugs) low fuel pressure, or another sensor is acting up (o2 maybe). You'd have to do a full diagnostic to see what's really going on without just pumping money into it. Again, I'm surprised the MAF didn't help. adamzan
Have you scanned it for "pending codes" they won't throw a light.
LVMikecheck
I was having a similar issue with surging in 2nd gear around 30-40mph. I ended up cleaning the MAF as suggested, the surging went away and I did get better gas mileage by 1 mpg in the city. I've got to say thanks to everyone here for helping me keep my Pathfinder out of the shop (and money in my pocket) for something so simple.
