Frenchconnextion
Has anyone removed or attempted to remove the OEM Fender Flares from an LE? Are they just screwed on or is there adhesive too? Cheers
exit34rocker1017
i have removed mine in order to add different rubber flares for a different look. the stock ones are easy to remove. there are a few screws which are easy to get to. once you unscrew them you just pop the flare out. it is held in by little pop in caps. (i dont know what to call them ) there is no adhesive. just be careful when your popping the flare out. try not damage the fender or the flare itself! Frenchconnextion
Did you find any rust back there when you removed yours? This guy found tons http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=25558
exit34rocker1017
i was lucky enough to barely find any rust at all. there was small surface rust that was starting to appear where the holes in the fender were. but they were easily sanded out and touched up. not a big problem. it all depends on where the truck is located and how its been taken care of though. Northernpathy
Unless you live in a non-road salt area, you will likely have rust back there. Fender flares should just be called "water/mud holders" instead.
SpencerE
How do I remove the little pop in cap things?
exit34rocker1017
From what I remember you have to pinch them from the inside of the fender. You might have to remove some fender liner. Not too positive on that though
01silvapathy
Pretty much, I made the mistake of breaking off a few of the mounting tabs on the actual flare.....well atleast that makes it easy for me to not put the flare back on lol. My front fenders will be coming off pretty soon.
