94stickpathy
My 94 XE is a California Emissions equipped vehicle from the factory. I checked the parts numbers for the ECU and they came up different. Does anyone know what the difference is with mine? Does it rob me of power, idle, mpg, etc? Any help would be appreciated. MY1PATH
cali ecu's are about 5~10 hp less and feature tempurature feedback for the EGR line into the intake to varify that it is working. there may be other differances but thats the main. MY1PATH
well your eyes and know where to look will varify the egr temp sensor. and the ca models using differant fuel maps for emissions, I don't remember where I read that. maybe a 300zx site. I have yet to plug a federal ecu into my cali model and see for myself but I will one day.
Precise1
Ok, that makes sense... I have a 48 state ECU from a 95 5 speed but I don't know if that is a good swap for your 89 and I can't remember if you have a manual or not. B
87pathy
wouldn't be a good swap as the TBI and MPFI have different ECUs
