Hey guys I sure am glad I found this forum, I've been browsing for a few days and sure have learned alot all ready. I just bought my first path, after years of hardbodies, and full sizes. I have loved the hardbody and after my first trek this weekend, LOVE my pathfinder. I bought my 1993 from the orginal owner, and the thing was immaculate. I went ahead and put 31 1050's on it, and took her to the ga mtns. She performed beautifully for a stock truck.

This is my new toy so I am about to drop my toy money on it. I have pretty much decided to get a full Calmini 3" lift and the steering helps. After that here is my list

Full exhaust w hiflo cat and good muffler prob 2.25

ignition and upgrade alternator and elec system

have a 2nd JET programmed CPU relocated of course to swap between riding in town and towing / trekking

gonna fab up some front and rear bumpers along with roof rack

The BIG question I have right now is should i spend the money on ceramic headers or will the pacesetters do the trick? in the past i have had cooked starters and hot engine compartments - any tips or ideas?

also - why do you move the oil filter? and where is the easiest place to relocate the CPU

Thanks for all the tech info already avail,

Welcome!! I'm glad that you like the pathfinder, we all do... :D

I like the dual ecu's idea and look forward to see what you do for a bumper.

The Pace Setters seem to to work for a lot of people but check the welds inside for obstruction. The Thorleys can be had nickel plated for about $400 and neither have complaints about cooked starters or excessive heat.

Most people relocate the filter to fit on larger ones and for ease of access and not getting burned or having oil drip on your starter. It is mounted in a way that is impossible not to spill a bit.

Most people move the ECU into the glove box.

First off welcome!( and show pictures!). Nice list you got goeing there for your plans. As for cooking starters, we ain't talkig a big block chevy here, drippage from the filter when doeing oil changes will shorten their life though(one of the benefits of the relocation kit). Hw your regular maintnance stuff before you start spending? Timing belt if not done recently or unknown when done last should be a priority...

Welcome...

Ether headers are fine,if your worried about heat then wrap them in header wrap(cloth stuff) it cuts down on heat getting into the engine bay.

Jet makes a programmer for the wd21?Thats cool,I had no idea, after you get post up what you think, since doesnt it change the shift points too and not just the tune of the engine.

Some people move the oil filter since you spill some on the starter/p-side manifold at ever change.I dont think its a big deal but some people think it kills starters.

Thanks for the feedback, I found that you can send the ECU to Jet and they will map it to your specs according to what you say you want. I think they have about 6 "setting types". Ill definitely see what they do and let yall know.

Thanks for the feedback on the headers, i think i will go with the pacesetters and wrap em up.

where do I go about getting an oil filter kit?

Also I noticed a member that seemed to claim a 190a alternator? Id like to get in touch and get more info. Saw the thread on doing the 90 amp upgrade which is where i was heading but... i am a big stereo guy so Ill take the bigggest I can easily fit.
