Pathfinder Questions

New pathfinder owner here. I just picked up a 95 XE with 118k. I also just bought a spare tire carrier and roof rack from pick and pull. Anybody ever install a tire carrier on a XE that never had one? Also is there a light or anything to tell if 4wd is engaged? Thanks in advance.

Roof rack installation will require pilot holes to be drilled into the roof. Make sure to line up both your channels first and tape them down to the roof so they will not move, then mark the holes with a marker.

Never added a tire carrier, I do know all taht is required, but I can say there are supports inside the rear quarter panel for the tire carrier that are not apparent.

Also, vehicles with the carrier had different quarter panels than those without, they had the holes for the carrier in them already. You will have to drill to mount it for sure.

There is a green light that looks like an H that will ight up when 4wd is engaged.

Hello New member.

Welcome to the forums. And let me be the first to tell you there is a vast amount of information here. Your best bet for MOST questions will be to use the search function.

The Roof rack issue has been talked about many many times. The tire carrier has been done and I'll provide the link for you since I have it book marked anyway but its also a PINNED topic in the How To section of the Garage section.

And as stated.... a green light comes on for 4 wheel drive.

Get familiar with the search function here man. It will save you a lot of trouble.
